Bird Grooming
Does your pet bird need a beak trim, a nail trim, or wings clipped? We can help!
Our standard grooming schedule is Wednesday - Sunday during open hours. You do not need an appointment, but to ensure that our groomer is available it is advised to call us at 303-433-4329 to double-check before you head over.
Beak trim: $8
Parrots’ beaks grow continuously throughout their lives, and these birds may need some assistance to keep them the right shape and size, particularly when the bird is older, ill, or lacking in a nutritious diet.
Nail trim: $8
Just like ours, birds’ nails grow throughout their lives. Sometimes they are sufficiently worn down by climbing and hopping around in their environment, but sometimes they need to be trimmed due to length or sharpness.
Wing clip: $8
Our homes are full of dangers for birds, which can be mitigated by clipping their wings. This painless, reversible action reduces a bird’s ability to fly upward and extremely quickly, while preserving their ability to catch themselves if the fall and to exercise their wing muscles. This can help birds be trained more easily and reduce risks of injury from ceiling fans, window collisions, and similar dangers. Birds regrow these feathers every 6-12 months, at which point they may be clipped again.
Band removal: $8
Does your bird catch their band on toys or other objects? Do they try to chew at it? Are you concerned it represents a threat to your bird’s health? Our specialist can take a look and let you know if they recommend removing it and if they are willing to try. If they are concerned that the removal itself could be dangerous for your bird, they will recommend going to a vet to have it removed
